HTC Trace is a Swype-Inspired Keyboard for Sense 3.0

Like the HTC keyboard? Like Swype? Then HTC Trace is probably what you have been looking for.

In Sense 3.0, there is a function in the keyboard settings that allows you to use Trace. Trace is HTC’s version of Swype’s keyboard. Not only does this overlay a swiping functionality over the HTC keyboard, there are also settings such as the ability to change the thickness of the tracing line. This allows Android users with wider fingers use Trace more easily and accurately.

This new find has only been seen on the HTC Sensation, although it’s expected to be a feature packed into all Sense 3.0 devices. Hopefully when a system dump of the Sensation is leaked, we can grab this feature and have it on our non-Sense 3.0 devices.

Neat. I always liked shapewriter better than Swype, but the lack of a demo for the new T9trace version prevents me from trying it.

Flex t9 works perfectly but I’ll try this for sure :)))

I was lucky in getting into the Swype 3.0 trial, and it is much more intelligent than the trace feature of Sense3.0. Trace is a clunky attempt with T9 features but one cannot edit nor customizable the dictionary…hence mispellings keep repeating itself…
