Just one week after Distimo projected a summer time frame for Android app outnumbering Apple’s, market research firm research2guidance is predicting something very similar. After crunching numbers and consulting the crystal ball, r2g sees Android taking the lead in August.  At that point, they forecast the Android Market as offering a staggering 425,000 applications.  Coming out of April, there were (unofficially) 295,000+ titles for users to choose from, up 28,000 from the month before.  The full r2g report is free and definitely worth reading as it also covers the top apps in various categories, paid versus free, and niche strategies for developers.
