Android by the Numbers: 100 Million Total Activations, 4.5 Billion Apps Downloaded
Hugo Barra, Product Management Director of Android, announced a few outstanding numbers at Google I/0 this morning regarding Android activations and app success:
- 100 million activated Android devices
- 400,000 new Android devices activated every day
- 200,000 free and paid applications available in Android Market
- 4.5 billion applications installed from Android Market
This is a 50,000 daily activation boost since March. Undoubtedly, Android has truly become a powerhouse in the mobile industry. Maybe by this time next year we will all be raving about impressive Android tablet and Google TV statistics!
