Beta Test This: Path for Android

If you’re not familiar with Path, it was launched in November last year on iOS, and is just making its way to Android. It’s a service that helps you stay connected with friends and family through photos and videos. You can tag your photos and videos with people, places, and things, and you can even look at your friend’s “moments”, and share yours via Facebook. Path has just released their Android app, and they’ve decided to make it a public beta, so everyone can enjoy and give their feedback on it.

So, without further ado, if you’re interested in trying out Path for Android, you can download it using the box below. It’s free from the Android Market, and it looks like a top-notch service. Well, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and download it, and be sure to give the developers your feedback, so they can help shape Path into an even better app!

Has anyone tried Path yet? What do you think of it so far? Sound off in the comments below or on our Facebook Wall! You can also check out a short video that demos Path below.

The service needs a few improvements before it’s really functional and viable – both in terms of the android app and the web interface.
I’ve already tweeted the Path twitter account about the following:
    * Need better control over which friends are added to path
    * Needs more info about friends who are already using it
    * App2SD: Size claims to be 1.8MB, is actually 5.3MB — not viable on an HTC Desire
    * Contextual menu link – photo taken in the normal camera shared with path friends

A lot of my iPhone friends really like this app, so I’m glad to see it’s available for Android now. I’m looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks for the heads-up.
