Twitter for Android Updated, Now Includes Multiple Account Support
Ladies and gentlemen, multiple account support, push notifications, and updated widgets are finally available on the official Twitter for Android app! Twitter announced via their blog that version 2.1 of the app brings these features and “a bunch of other improvements and bug fixes”.
The multiple account support has been integrated very nicely into this version. The settings in the app give you full control over what type of notifications that you want turned on for each account. Plus, account sync for contacts works with every account. The new widgets play nicely with the multiple account support too. You can have specific widgets for certain accounts, and have certain widgets display only tweets or only mentions. Push notifications work flawlessly. The second someone sends you a direct message or mentions you, a notification will pop up in the notification bar, if you have it enabled within the settings.
This is a fantastic and much needed update for the official Twitter client. Grab the update from the box below, and leave a comment with your thoughts! You can also leave your feedback on our Facebook Wall!
