Verizon LTE Coming to 28 New Markets This Week

Verizon will be expanding its blazing fast LTE network to an additional 28 markets this week making it available to a total of 102 cities across the country. Verizon‘s LTE rollout is as impressively quick as the network itself and they are well on their way to meeting their goal of having LTE in over 145 markets by the end of 2011. With LTE enabled devices such as the LG Revolution, Samsung Droid Charge, and HTC Thunderbolt readily available, the number of Verizon customers anxiously waiting for LTE to reach their area is increasing by the minute.

This Thursday that wait will end for thousands of customers living in the following areas:

  • Decatur
  • Huntsville

  • Colorado Springs

  • Lakeland
  • Sarasota-Bradenton

  • Augusta

  • Hilo
  • Honolulu
  • Kahului-Wailuku
  • Lahaina

  • Carbondale

  • Wichita

  • Louisville

  • Baton Rouge
  • Hammond

  • Springfield
    North Carolina

  • Greensboro
  • Winston-Salem
  • High Point
  • Raleigh-Durham

  • Toledo

  • Tulsa

  • Portland

  • Wilkes Barre
  • Scranton
    South Carolina

  • Charleston

  • Chattanooga
  • Knoxville

  • Olympia
  • Tacoma
    West Virginia

  • Charleston

I keep counting more than 28 new markets, but hey, who’s complaining? Along with the lucky bunch of folks out there set to experience LTE on Thursday, Verizon will be treating some of its existing areas with an expansion in hopes of giving their customers even better LTE coverage. Just remember to keep an eye on that data consumption which is sure to increase once you have LTE at your finger tips. For the rest of you still waiting for LTE to hit your area, try to hang in there, Verizon plans on having its entire network area covered by the year 2013.
