Digitimes: HTC, Samsung and LG Prepping 42Mbps Smart Phones for T-Mobile
Digitimes is reporting today that HTC, Samsung, and LG are all working on handsets capable of supporting 4G HSPA+ network at speeds of up to 42Mbps. HTC is expected to deliver their first 42Mbps-ready smart phone at some time in the second half of the year, although we suspect other companies will be ready by then as well. As of today, the only device that even works at a theoretical 42Mbps is their USB adapter, the Rocket 3.0. On the other hand, the carrier does offer nearly a dozen models that can handle up to 21Mbps speeds.
