Halfbrick Studios Releases Free, Ad-Supported Version of Fruit Ninja

How do you follow up one of the most popular slashing games on Android?  You set it free.  That’s essentially what Halfbrick Studios has done today as they released a free, ad-supported version of Fruit Ninja into the Android Market.  So if you haven’t downloaded one of the better time wasters of the last year and don’t mind putting up with an occasional ad (after level completion), then be sure to see what the fuss is all about.

Note: Unlike the paid version, Fruit Ninja Free requires Android 2.1 or higher.

Permissions are offputting… Why does a fruit slicing game need my location? I’m sure it’s for some location based ads, but still not what I’m looking for.

This application has access to the following:
    Your location: coarse (network-based) location
    Network communication: full Internet access
Phone calls: read phone state and identity
Storage: modify/delete USB storage contents modify/delete SD card contents
System tools: prevent device from sleeping, retrieve running applicationsTry Fruit Slice (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.droidhen.fruit ) Less permissions required with the same fun and move game modes.
