Droid Bionic Specs Finally Confirmed by Motorola
It’s been a long road for the Bionic, from its announcement back at CES to Motorola’s delay, aimed at bringing an “improved form factor,” and most recently, a rumored August 4th launch date. We’ve heard several different rumors as far as specs go, and it appears that Motorola is ready to clear up the confusion. The MotoDev site has given an official (yes, we said official) spec sheet for the Bionic, comparing it to the Droid 3 and Photon 4G. So, what’s actually under the hood? Well, the Bionic will be rocking:
- 4.3-inch qHD display
- Android 2.3.4
- 1GHz OMAP4430-1000 dual-core processor
- 8MP rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash
- 1080p video recording and playback
- VGA front-facing camera
- 1GB RAM
- HDMI-out port
- Webtop capabilities, much like the Atrix 4G
Now I’m not sure about you, but I’m definitely impressed with those numbers. The Bionic is shaping up to be a killer device for Verizon.
So, since we’ve gotten official specs for the device, is it too much to ask for an official release date? We’re looking at you, Motorola. Who else is excited for the Droid Bionic? Do you think it will be able to compete with the Photon 4G on Sprint? Leave a comment below!

You may recall that way back in July the folks at AndroidSPIN were able to get their hands on a copy of T-Mobile’s year end roadmap. Among the listed Android devices were two from Motorola. With one handset (Jordan) already accounted for in the Motorola Defy, the other has yet to be figured out. According to Engadget, the Project Begonia phone will be the T-Mobile Cliq 2.
