Samsung Mobile Details Full TouchWiz UX Update for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung has issued a formal press release to break down all of the new features set to arrive with the forthcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1 software update.  Making its debut today in New York City, the public rollout will begin this Friday, August 5th and hit tablets everywhere.  Among the details in the update are the inclusion of TouchWiz UX, Samsung Media Hub, a couple of applications, and improved enterprise support.

Hit the break to see a full list of features for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 update!  Don’t forget, if you’re in New York City today (August 3), you can take your tablet to Samsung directly and they’ll sideload the update for you while you wait (5-10 minutes).  Please note that your tablet will essentially be wiped and you’ll lose any data and apps you have stored.  Otherwise, sit tight and wait for the public deployment.

  • TouchWiz UX
    • Live Panel: Magazine-like widget view for immediate access to weather, social updates, email, news, photo gallery, all on the home screen. The visual layout of Live Panel is completely customizable for one-touch entry into each user’s most important information.
    • Mini Mode Tray: One-touch access to commonly used applications—Task Manager, Calendar, World Clock, Pen Memo, Calculator, Music—which overlay in a pop-up window on display screen for powerful multi-tasking.
    • Clipboard: Advanced copy & paste functionality allows Galaxy Tab 10.1 users to store photos, Web pages, YouTube links, etc., on the clipboard for easy sharing via email and social network sites.
    • Indicator Quick Panel: Quickly toggle on/off Wi-Fi, notifications, sound, brightness and settings in lower right hand corner of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 display.
    • Photo Editor: Rotate, crop and adjust colors on high quality digital images
