Motorola KORE Found to be Related to Fitness Headphones

A recent peek in the U.S. Patents and Trademarks website tells us that Motorola KORE is not expected to be tablet or service related, but tied to fitness headphones.  Motorola filed for a trademark on KORE a little over one week ago, shortly after buying up a handful of similar domains.

ELECTRONIC NON MEDICAL PORTABLE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY MONITOR AND FITNESS DEVICE FOR MEASURING MOVEMENTS, INDIVIDUAL’S ENERGY EXPENDITURE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL AND ACCESSORIES THEREFORE, NAMELY, HEADPHONES; SOFTWARE FOR DEVELOPING AND MONITORING PERSONAL ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE PLANS, TRAINING PLANS, TRAINING GOALS AND GIVING FEEDBACK ON THE ACHIEVED RESULTS – USPTO

Some of you may not know this, but Motorola offers other electronics outside of creating Droids and Photons.  They have a wide range of Bluetooth devices, speakerphones, and more so it’s not a surprise to see them working on some headphones that track fitness.  Engadget recently came across some information and images that look to be the KORE stuff

Judging by the pictures, these look to be a simple Bluetooth connection.  Looks like this leaves Harman as one of the only major companies to take advantage of the Android Open Accessory technology.
