Norton Releases Free Norton Mobile Security Lite

Norton has released a new, security app for Android handsets today with a number of anti-theft and anti-malware features needed to stay protected.  Called Norton Mobile Security Lite, it’s a free and stripped down version of Norton’s more robust full suite.  Features include the ability to remotely a lock stolen phone via SMS and scan files and app/game updates to detect malware threats.  The LiveUpdate will stay current, running in the background, automatically downloading and installing security updates.

Initially, Norton Mobile Security Lite will be released in English, Spanish, German, French, and Italian.  The app is free to download and install on any Android device running 1.6 and above.  For added protection, Norton Mobile Security provides remote location, wiping, call and text blocking, and more at a rate of $29.99 per year.
