Vodafone announced earlier today that subscribers in their UK and German markets will soon be able to purchase apps and goods within Android applications.  Initially available to those who purchase their handsets through Vodafone’s online and retail channels, the service will presumably expand to additional devices and markets before long.  Vodafone reminds us how this move will benefit developers as not all consumers are willing or even able to use credit cards for purchases.  According to their figures this could be as much as  90% of a carrier’s market.  Vodafone plans to follow up with more information on the rollout in short order.
