Gingerbread now Running on Nearly a Third of all Android Devices
Google has just updated its current distribution of Android versions, and it sure looks good. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is up 7%, now running on 31.3% of all Android devices. Android 3.0 Honeycomb is up .1%, taking account for 1.4% of all the Android tablets in the world. Android 2.2 Froyo is still leading the pack at 51.2%, down 4.7% from August. The big story, however, is the progress that Gingerbread has made in only 3 months. Since June, the tasty holiday treat has gained 22.6% of Google’s mobile OS share, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon, especially as Google’s newest phone version continues rolling out to more and more phones everyday. What version are you on?
