Motorola Announces Gingerbread for Droid 2 Global

Motorola announced earlier this morning that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is available for the Droid 2 Global.  Not to be confused with the update that was recently announced by Verizon, this is for the world-ready version of the handset.  According to the Motorola forums, the update is rolling out in stages and features numerous enhancements including a “new download manager app, multi-touch key-chording, new user interface, and more”. Of course, you impatient lot might be able to grab it today by navigating to Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates.
