Gingerbread Update for the Droid Incredible Finally Rolling Out — Again

Feels like deja vu doesn’t it? The Droid Incredible Gingerbread update was slated for an August 16th rollout until ultimately being delayed so Verizon’s product team could do a bit more testing. A couple weeks passed without a word until finally we received an announcement via HTC’s Facebook page that the Gingerbread update would be coming in the month of September.

Well, it didn’t take long. We’re only one week into September and the Gingerbread Update for the Droid Incredible has begun pushing out. Keep an eye out for the update in your notification bar or simply check for it under your device settings.

Man, what a roller coaster ride it’s been for Incredible owners! First they said “no Gingerbread,” then “yes Gingerbread,” then “delayed Gingerbread,” and now — Gingerbread! All I know is that Droid branded phones have been seeing a lot of Gingerbread love as of late and in case you missed it, the Droid 2 and Droid 2 Global were a couple of recent Droids to receive it.

The update wiped out two thirds of my apps! But, it is just a matter of re-installing them and putting them where I like on the screen. I hope this update solves the “application disc space is low” issue that has plagued my device since I got it!
