Motorola Admiral to Sport Sprint’s Direct Connect

Here’s a phone we’ve had almost no information on until now. We first saw a picture of the mysterious device back in July. Then in August, we saw its name leaked. But it wasn’t until today that the two would come together to form an identity which is: The Motorola Admiral. Thanks to an Engadget tipster, we now have a not-so-blurry look at the Motorla Admiral along with a list of features.

This portrait QWERTY will be donning Sprint’s Direct Connect service along with Android 2.3. Other specs outed include:

  • 1.2GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU
  • 3.1″ Full VGA Display
  • 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording
  • 1860 mAh battery
  • Memory: 4GB internal, 1.4GB usuable, 32GB expandable via MicroSD

Apparently this device has been built to military specifications which would explain the Admiral moniker. It looks to be a rugged, on-the-job type work phone as opposed to a top-tier play toy. It should fill its particular niche nicely and at least now we have some answers to put this one to rest.
