Google Wallet to Launch Today, September 19th? (Rumor)

Roughly four months after it made its on-stage debut, Google Wallet is readying for its real-world arrival. According to information obtained by TechCrunch, various partners have been receiving notices advising that the near-field communication (NFC) technology/service will be ready to roll later today, September 19th. Although there have been multiple handsets released with an integrated NFC chip, TechCrunch believes that the Nexus S 4G with Android 2.3.4 will be the first to support Google Wallet.

The timing of this launch is no coincidence as today sees the beginning of the annual NFC World Congress. MasterCard, a key partner in Google Wallet, is listed among the companies speaking at the French event.  Previous rumors indicated that RadioShack would be readying for the rollout of NFC come the first of September.
