Huawei U8520 Gains FCC Seal of Approval

The FCC has announced a new Android device, the Huawei 8520. This device will be running Android 2.2 on an HVGA display, 1GHz processor (most likely single-core), 3MP camera, and your usual Android fare (WiFi, GPS, etc.) The 8520 is Huawei’s first dual-SIM device, with one SIM running on 3G networks, and the other having access to GSM networks. The device will have WCDMA II and WCDMA V capabilities, so it could (theoretically) be launched by AT&T, although we don’t see that happening in the near future.

The 8520 can be found on a few Australian and Chinese websites, which may be Huawei’s target audience. No word on an official release date, pricing, or really any kind of important information on this device, but we’ll keep you in the loop if anything pops up.

So, is anyone thinking about grabbing one of these low-end devices when it drops? Leave a comment below!
