MLB At Bat ’11 Becomes Amazon Free App of Day Just in Time for Playoffs

Don’t look now, but the baseball playoffs start next week.  And just like last year, the official MLB application is being offered in a deep discounted fashion.  Whereas last season the app’s price was chopped in half, this year it’s being set free.  You’ll have to hurry to take advantage of the savings, but Amazon is offering MLB At Bat ’11 for free today.  Now it’s possible to cheer your club on through the post-season with live news, scores, and more.  It’s also possible to pick one of the remaining teams and pretend like you’ve been rooting for them all along.

Features of the application include:

  • Watch live out-of-market games with a MLB.TV subscription or the Free Game of the Day*
  • See key plays/pivotal moments from every game with Live Look-Ins, blackout free
  • At The Ballpark with check-in, expanded video highlights, my profile, social media with Facebook and Foursquare, exclusive offers and rewards and more
  • Customizable home screen to feature a designated favorite team
  • Favorite team icon launcher widget for one-click access to a team’s homepage
  • MLB.com widget for one-click access to a live league-wide scoreboard
  • In-progress video highlights
  • Home and away radio broadcasts
  • Gameday pitch-by-pitch tracker
  • Video library archive, searchable by team and player
  • Breaking news, standings, schedules, rosters and statistics
