Push-to-Talk Motorola i940 Found at FCC

A new Motorola phone has been found in FCC documents, giving us a decent look at a push-to-talk handset on the horizon. According to the information in the listing, this i940 features iDEN push-to-talk technology. Things look to be ready for production as evidenced by the two user manuals and cover letter that plainly says “final production-intended version”.

We’re scratching our heads over why Sprint might be releasing this iDEN handset when they are in the middle of transitioning over to CDMA for push-to-talk.  If this is truly ready to roll out Motorola’s doors, look for a formal name and rumored launch date to leak out in short order.
