Motorola to Begin XOOM’s 4G LTE Update on September 29

Motorola and Verizon have officially announced that the 4G LTE upgrade for the 10.1-inch XOOM tablet begins tomorrow, September 29th.  If you are among the few who went out and purchased one of these tablets then you will want to go to a special dedicated page for the update and follow the steps.  Those who signed up for alerts should automatically get your notification.  The whole process should take roughly six business days to complete from start to finish and will not cost XOOM owners anything out of pocket.

Faster speeds and connections enhance the Motorola XOOM experience, allowing customers to download songs in seconds and movies in minutes. Customers should expect average download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G LTE mobile broadband coverage areas. When customers travel outside of a 4G LTE coverage area, the Motorola XOOM automatically connects to the Verizon Wireless 3G network, enabling customers to stay connected from coast to coast.
