Best Buy Knocks HTC Flyer Down to $100 (UPDATE: False Alarm)

Best Buy has dropped the price of the HTC Flyer all the way down to a super-attractive $99 price point.  Currently out of stock on their website, the Android 2.3-powered tablet features a custom version of Sense UI designed for the larger 7-inch display. Specifications include 16GB internal storage, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, and handful of preloaded apps.  Check with your local Best Buy before running off to grab one, they might not have them in stock either!

UPDATE: Word started rolling in quickly once stores opened up that this was a pricing error.  An email was sent out via corporate that the real $299 price is still in effect.  Man, we were this close!

Good luck. Stopped by and they are doing a price correction. It’s still 299. Some people are arguing with the manager now. Pen is still 39.

I just left the store, and they refused to sell it at that price. They said it was a mistake and changed it back to $299

    NOPE Chuck Testa.

It was a mistake in the price and it’s still $299.

I think they did this to get a buzz for their sites and stores, lame.

First store I hit right after opening honored the price but was sold out. Second store a little later got wise and knocked the price back up.
