T-Mobile Announces SpringBoard, Galaxy Tab 10.1 Arriving “In Time for the Holidays”
T-Mobile USA tossed out a press release late last night, officially announcing that a pair of 4G Android-powered tablets would be ready for launch later this year. Expected “in time for the holidays”, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and T-Mobile SpringBoard will offer consumers a choice in tablet size and, of course, price point.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the same wonderful Samsung tablet that we’ve all come to know and love and comes with a number of preloaded applications. Pick one of these up and you’ll find it has T-Mobile TV, Qello, Samsung Media Hub, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD (demo), SIM City Deluxe (demo), Blio eReader and Zinio.
The T-Mobile SpringBoard is the same Huawei tablet that has been rumored over the last few weeks and should carry a $199.99 price tag when it debuts. Specifications include a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, 7-inch HD display, 5-megapixel camera (720HD video), front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera, and an SD card for memory expansion.
While T-Mobile might be shy on the official launch date for these two tablets, we have a good idea when to expect them. According to a recently leaked roadmap, the Huawei SpringBoard is listed with a November 2nd debut with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 arriving a week earlier on October 26th.
