Asus on Verge of Announcing Transformer 2?

Let’s switch off of Ice Cream Sandwich for a moment and get back to upcoming phones and tablets, eh? One device we’re very anxious to see, Asus’ follow-up to the Transformer tablet, looks to be nearing its official announcement. A YouTube video uploaded yesterday the yet-announced device, promising that “it’s coming”. Awesome! But when? An unveiling could come this week as ASUS chariman Jonney Shih will be taking the stage at AsiaD, the overseas counterpart to D: All Things Digital.

Word on the street is that the Transformer 2 will feature Tegra 3 chipset and could make its retail debut in mid-November.

Ice Cream Sandwich?

We’re not quite sure what to make of the tags for the YouTube video (sometimes they are far off the mark) but Ice Cream Sandwich is listed. On the other hand, so is Honeycomb. Maybe ASUS will announce it with 3.X but promise to put 4.0 on it in short order.
