GameStop adds Android tablets to their arsenal of gaming devices
Gaming on mobile devices is on the rise, as chipsets becomes faster and screen sizes become larger, more and more console quality games are making their way to our Android devices. Video game retailer GameStop has taken notice of this increasingly popular trend and hopes to get in on the fun by adding Android tablets to their expansive inventory of gaming devices. In an attempt to boost sales of these newly added products, GameStop is offering six free mobile games with every tablet purchase as well as the Kongregate Arcade app (which is free on Android anyways). The tablets GameStop is currently offering include:
All tablets are competitively priced, and being as it’s GameStop selling them, customers can use trade and trade-in credits towards their purchase. Along with the decent pricing is the six free games I mentioned earlier:
- Dead Space
- Sonic CD
- Monster Madness
- Riptide GP
GameStop is also offering a compatible wireless bluetooth controller for an extra $39 with the purchase of any tablet to add to that console gaming feel.
While I’m reluctant about purchasing a tablet from somewhere such as GameStop, the trade-in credit option is appealing, especially for those looking to knock down the price a bit. GameStop has said that this is merely a test phase and will only be offering the tablets for sale online and in 200 select retail locations.
