Nook Tablet starts shipping a day early
Barnes & Noble has begun shipping their latest product, the Nook Tablet, one day ahead of schedule. While it might not seem like much of a deal on the surface, it puts the tablet in stores and, more importantly, in hands earlier than expected. The sooner these are in a retail environment, the better as the next few weeks will be heated to say the least.
According to the press release, the Nook Tablet is shipping to a big order volume however the exact numbers remain unclear. Thanks to a one year head start, B&N has already built up a solid following and track record on the digital front. The $249 Nook Color was an incredible success and we fully expect the same out of the new tablet. Consider that the hardware exceeds that of the Kindle Fire it should be a hacker friendly device. On a more “typical consumer” front, the library of 2.5 million digital titles should sway folks looking for the biggest selection of books.
