ChaCha updates Android app, new features in tow
ChaCha, a vastly popular Q&A service, has just announced an update to the ChaCha Android app, with a host of new features for users to enjoy. Here’s a breakdown of what the new version brings to the table:
- Live Stream Qs- users can view up-to-the-minute questions and answers, on trending topics worldwide
- Rate Answers- users now have the ability to let others know if a particular answer was helpful or useless
- Qs Near You- shows questions and answers by location
- Push notifications, so users know as soon as their question has been answered
Users can also get updates from ChaCha on the news, stocks, weather, and more, via the app. The updated version is said to be faster, smoother, and it’s compatible with Android 3.1. It’s worth noting that this iteration of ChaCha requires Android 2.1 or above.

The app includes fun features such as “Qs Near You,” which highlights questions being asked by other users in nearby locations, as well as “Live Stream Qs,” where users can view up-to-the-minute questions being answered on trending topics in real time. The App also features the “Rate Answers” function, allowing users to choose their favorite answers and mark answers they were not pleased with.

Users can sign up to receive ChaCha alerts for weather, stocks, news and more to be sent to their phone. The updated app is also equipped with push notifications, which allow users to receive their answer when the app is not open. With improved stability, an updated registration process and a faster, smoother interface, ChaCha for Android Version 4.0 is compatible with the latest Android OS release, version 3.1, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Version 4.0 requires Android OS v. 2.1 or higher.
