Intel partners with LG, Intel-powered phones coming in March

Intel is finally going to start mass producing chips for the mobile phone market. The chips are set to be out in some LG phones in March of 2012 at the earliest.

Intel is said to be gearing up for a major marketing campaign for the new processors as it competes with more established (in the mobile phone market) Nvidia and Qualcomm. No word on what these handsets will look like, or if Intel will have a say in the overall design. It’s likely that we’ll see some of these devices at CES next week. More on this as it develops.

So are you ready to see an Intel-powered Android phone? How do you think Intel will stack up against the Tegra 3 and Snapdragon processors? Drop a comment below!

Intel still has a ways to go when it comes to power consumption.  Not to mention that app compatibility will also be an issue.
