Android 4.0 Confirmed for Archos G9 Tablets

Archos is brand name that is quite popular and known all over the world. We all love them for their wide range of Android tablets. If you are familiar with their G9 Tablets or currently using one of them, then you would love to hear that Archos just confirmed an ICS update for G9 Line.

As we informed you few weeks ago that Archos will be launching the update in Q1 of 2012, the expected time was right because Archos will be launching the update for G9 Tablets during the first week of February. By the end of next month, users would be able to buy Archos G9 Tablets with ICS pre-installed right from the shelf.

Also the updated G9 Tablets will come with 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU instead of 1.2. The ASUS Transformer Prime is the first to run the Ice Cream Sandwich, whereas Archos G9 tablets will be leading the ICS race after it. G9 Tablets are impressive, and with these attractive specs and balanced price, it’s no doubt one of the best in the market right now.

Archos fanboys, are you excited about the ICS update for the Archos G9 Tablet?

And when do the earlier buyers of the previous tablets finally get tablet software? We are stuck with 2.2, after sales of Archos is extremely bad. Don’t buy any Archos!

I bought an Archos G9 in October.  Due to problems with their Android implementation, I could not buy apps from the Google Market Place.  Another problem was that finger tip pressure, on the back of the tablet, caused distortions on the screen (like water drop waves).

Overall, the G9 build quality was poor.  Worse, Archos knew about these problems, but kept selling the flawed devices.

Based on my experience with the G9 tablet, I will not buy Archos products again.

when Archos first started selling android handsets they kept the price down because of making resistive touch screens, no software updates, and no official android market. you need to do your homework before you buy. Ive been watching them for 4 and a half years thats why I haven’t bought them but I might with the G9. just put a cover over it to help the touch pressure on the back. Archos is really good though about updating there handsets through firmware updates at least once a month, not alot of company do that. go to there web site look at a couple of models back and look at all the changlogs, its pretty impressive support. also one of the only company to always do HD quality tv out on there devices…. although alot of smart phones are doing it now : ) hope this helps. extensive research is key to knowing exactly what your getting.
