Tablet Ownership Increased in USA during the Holiday Season

Over the past few years, tablet devices have become a hot item. Many people consider this a new generation of computing. In the United States, people prefer the larger screens and consider them more useful than mobile phones. According to Pew Research Center, tablet ownership is rapidly increasing. Numbers soared from 10% ownership to 19% ownership after the holiday season.

Cheap Android tablets are a big part of this.  Devices like the Kindle Fire, the Nook series of devices along with many other cheap Android tablets are good examples of hot new items with decent specifications and a reasonable price tag. We saw the ASUS MeMO 370T at CES2012coming with a price tag of $250, but boasting a quad core processor. Talk of the Google Nexus tablet has us really excited as well.Current and future slates should allow Android to continue its dominance in the tablet device market. Do you have one of these already? If not, does the outlook of future devices interest you at all?  Let us know in the comments below.
