Does LG have a quad-core Optimus 4X up its sleeve for MWC?
You might not think it but LG could still be holding onto at least one more Android for Mobile World Congress. With the Optimus Max 3D, Optimus Vu, Optimus LTE Tag, and L-Style series already official, it would seem there’s not much left for LG. However, using the most infomercial voice we could muster we have to say, “But wait, there’s more!” Who could forget the rumored quad-core X3?
According to details obtained by Pocketnow, the X3 should be getting a more formal name for Mobile World Congress. Assuming they can hold onto the secret long enough, we should look for LG to unveil the Optimus 4X next week.
The name makes perfect sense as the first dual-core smartphone ever was LG’s Optimus 2X. Get it? Two cores! Four cores would be 4X. Anyone wanna guess what an eight-core handset would be?
As a reminder, the hardware specs for the LG Optimus 4X include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, and 8-megapixel camera. Nestled neatly in a sub-9mm waistline, the smartphone should also include 21Mbps HSPA data connectivity, NFC, and a 2000mAh battery.
Yeah, this sounds like a “best for last” situation to us.
