Fujitsu to announce quad-core ICS phone at MWC

Fujitsu to announce quad-core ICS phone at MWC

Mobile World Congress is just few days away, and it seems that Japanese giant Fujitsu is getting ready to make a comeback in the smartphone game by announcing a phenomenal phone in Barcelona. Unwired View is reporting that Fujitsu will be launching a quad-core device at MWC with ICS. This might be the same device we heard about last month. While the photo above is a bit generic, it’s all we have to go on at the moment. The rumored specs include:

  • Tegra 3 (maximum 1.5Ghz quad-core + companion core) CPU + 12GPU
  • 4.6-inch display
  • 13.1MP camera
  • Water-resistant and dust-resistant
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Ice Cream Sandwich
Fujitsu told the Financial Times that the device will launch with a powerful battery as well. A notable feature is the 13.1MP camera, which will be a challenge to all phones with “high” quality cameras. The fact that it’s dust- and waterproof adds to the fact that some users aren’t always looking for only faster processors, and that Fujitsu is trying to cover all the bases.
At any rate, it’s only a matter of time before Fujitsu’s latest creation sees the light of day. One can only hope  that the device’s battery will compensate for the strains of a quad-core processor. More on this as it develops.
So who else is excited for MWC? What devices are you looking forward to seeing? Let us know in the comments!
