Asus teases “awesome” features in next Transformer Prime update

ASUS has begun teasing the next software update for their Android-based tablet, the Transformer Prime.  The company doesn’t indicate exactly what we might be looking forward to yet, but apparently it’s awesome.

Awesome new features coming in the next Transformer Prime firmware update. Stay tuned!

It didn’t take very long, but the general details for the update have already landed online.  As it appears today, there will be a software update rolling out starting March 29th that will add support for a “Prime LAN cable” accessory which will allow the tablet’s USB port to connect to a wired ethernet cable.  If you ask us, this is yet another reason to consider picking one of these up over a traditional laptop or netbook.

Additional details for the supposed v9.4.2.21 update are said to include new, standalone camera firmware, Android Market to Play Store transition, ASUS Vibe software 2.0, and an improved way of handling notifications.  Getting back to connectivity, the update is tipped to include Ad-hoc WiFi network support and toggling between portrait and landscape mode for videos played through HDMI output.
