Instagram v1.0 now live on the Google Play Store

Here’s a quick note to let you all know that Instagram is now available on the Google Play Store for free with a minimum requirement running Android 2.2 (Froyo). Quite popular on that “other” OS, it’s nice to see this latest addition come to Android. I have to say, the user interface is quite appealing, check out these screenshots below.


Instagram was launched in October 2010 by co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Instagram is a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. Simply snap a photo, then choose a filter to transform the look and feel. Pictures are shared on Instagram, and can be easily uploaded to other social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.

    Nice simple app. However, it does not let me share with google +. I don’t do twitter, facebook or tmbler.

    The app’s features are boring and limited for my uses.

    If one wants a snap and go app then this might do. I want more though.

    Why would I want my pictures to be odd blue, green, red colors???

    My standard camera app takes clear, sharp, perfect pictures already.

    oh and i tried to install it on galaxy tab said not compatible…all i di was search for the apk on google and installed it that way and it worked…so why they tell me not compatible with galaxy tab if it works
