T-Mobile offering $50–$200 guaranteed trade-in credit toward 4G handset
T-Mobile today announced a new “Magenta Deal Days” promotion which looks to lure consumers away from their current carrier. Effective April 25th through May 8th, T-Mobile will give customers a guaranteed trade-in value of $50–$200 when they exchange their old working handset for a new, 4G smartphone.
We’re guessing here, but it’s probably no coincidence that the campaign kicks off the same day that T-Mobile starts offering their HTC One S. We checked the fine print and see that the carrier gives preferential treatment to iPhone users. You can kick the tires a bit and see what your phone might yield; A working EVO 4G is worth $50 whereas a Droid Razr Maxx could net $275 on trade-in.
Eligible smartphones are iPhone, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Symbian 9.0+, and Android devices only. New activation of qualifying plan on two-year contract and purchase of a qualifying T-Mobile device required. To receive funds, you must mail in the trade-in handset, trade-in voucher, and proof of purchase (copy of UPC and receipt) within 30 days of date of purchase. Prepaid debit card will be mailed within 60 days from receipt of both trade-in handset and required paperwork.
