Googleplus Local Feature

Google+ Local goes live with free Zagat integration

Google has introduced a new feature for the Google+ experience which helps users find highly rated nearby restaurants, hangouts, bars, and more.  Taking advantage of their Zagat acquisition from last year, the new element delivers scores and summaries from one of the most trusted names in the business.  What’s more, Google + Local also provides reviews from friends in your circles, addresses, hours of operation, and other handy stuff.

You can also share your opinions and upload photos. These reviews and photos will help your friends when they’re checking out a place, and are also integrated into the aggregate score that other people see. The more you contribute, the more helpful Google+ Local will be for your friends, family and everyone else.

We really like the direction that Google is taking here as they tie many of their services into one experience.  We’re digging the way Google has managed to integrate Google Maps, Latitude, Buzz, and contacts into this central app.

Look for Google+ Local feature online immediately and later today in your Android app.  Google promises even more features are coming soon, one of which we expect to be tied to Events.
