Apple drops Google maps, opts for an in-house alternative



 

It was only a matter of time, folks. Apple has officially announced that they’re dropping Google Maps on their iDevices and going for something cooked up within their own walled garden walls. Big loss? That stands for debate, as Google Maps has never really run terrifically on iOS. However, this won’t mean much for Android users; if anything, it will give developers more time to add to the Maps experience on Android.
