NBC teams with Adobe to launch two London Olympics apps

If you’re a big fan of the Olympics, today might just be your lucky day. NBC and Adobe have announced the release of two great new apps that will help users get the best content during the big events.

The first is named, creatively enough, NBC Olympics. It gives users news, featured highlights, athlete profiles, results and schedules for all 32 sports, push notifications, and even a feature called Destination London, which gives users a tour of London, the city in which the Olympics will take place this year. As if that wasn’t enough, the app has some social functionality, so fans can interact with others all over the country during the Olympics.

NBC and Adobe apparently didn’t think one app was enough, so they released NBC Olympics Live Extra, which does exactly as its name suggests. This app gives users a more “as-it-happens” approach, with live streams of every Olympic event, alternating camera angles for specific sports, and even DVR capabilities. NBC is hoping that it will provide the ultimate user experience for Olympic fans.

Both apps are free from the Play Store, so if you’re looking for a more in-depth Olympic experience, you can download either (or both) of the apps for yourself. Obviously the Live Extra app will use a lot of data, so we recommend using it over WiFi. The full press release can be found below.
