Will Amazon announce next Kindle Fire on September 6?

We just received an email from Amazon inviting us to a September 6 press conference. Considering we’re known as an Android site and not just one that covers e-readers or general tech, our interest is piqued. Why would Amazon send us an invitation?

It’s no secret that Amazon is expected to announce a new model of Kindle Fire this fall and recent rumors suggest that things could happen sooner than later.  Will it be a bigger, faster model?  What happens to the current model?  We’re pretty sure this conference has some Android implications so we’re excited to see what comes of next week’s event.
