HTC Proto likely to become Desire X
The recently leaked HTC Proto looks to have a more formal name in store for when it gets its official announcement. Word around town is that it will carry the moniker Desire X when it presumably debuts in the coming weeks.
Details of the name come from Swedish site Technytt who found that several online stores have listed the handset with the model number. Considering how much the Proto resembles the Desire V it makes sense that it stays with that series.
Now it’s just a matter of when the phone gets announced. IFA takes place later this week and would be a perfect venue for an unveiling. Of course, HTC has been known to throw some one-off events of their ow as well.
