Google+ is now 1/9th size of Facebook

Google’s senior vice president of engineering, Vic Gundotra, today announced that Google+ has grown to more than 100 million active monthly users.  At around 1/9th the size of Facebook, it has a long way to go before catching the king of social networking.  Consider, however, that Google+ has only been offered as a public service for barely a year now and that 100 million figure actually is quite appealing.

In all seriousness, Google+ has grown quite a bit in its first year and we’ve really enjoyed the new features.  Now, we just need a proper way to manage business pages from the mobile client and we’ll be all set.  Congrats to the Google team!

This is incorrect. You’re comparing the Google Plus’ 100 million active users to Facebook’s total users. You should compare Google Plus’ total users of 400 million to Facebook’s 900 million… or active to active.

Incorrect. They are almost half the size (42%) in less than a year compared to facebook’s 8 years.
