Lookout updates security app in wake of Galaxy S III dialer scare

Remember the big story from earlier in the week where everyone was worried about Samsung’s Galaxy S III  getting remotely wiped?  Do you recall hearing how easy it would be to initiate a remote attack on select Galaxy models?  Yeah, well even after Samsung advised things were actually okay, the threat for such a problem still exists for other Android users. To that end, Lookout has updated its Mobile Security app to better handle such a problem.

For what it’s worth Lookout advises that they are “not aware of malicious examples of a dialer-based attack in-the-wild”,  adding that “it remains a concerning vulnerability: the worst known exploit results in total data loss”.

If you already have Lookout Mobile Security installed on your Android device then you are all set!
