Sony’s flagship ‘Odin’ handset, set to rule over 2013
Sony’s next flagship smartphone release, the C650X, hopes to be a God-king that rules over all other smartphones. Carrying the codename of ‘Odin‘, the phone looks to be running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and a 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware.
The User-Agent Profile (UAProf) for the Odin has been found online and shows three different numbers: C6502, C6503 and C6506. As Xperia Blog suggests, these are all the same device but with slight number changes to correspond with regional releases.
- Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; en-us; C6502 Build/10.1.A.0.211) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30
- Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; ja-jp; C6503 Build/10.1.A.0.168) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30
- Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; sv-se; C6506 Build/10.1.A.0.201) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30
Sure, we’re definitely excited to start looking ahead to new Sony stuff, especially if it builds on the momentum of the Xperia T, Xperia V, and Xperia J. To us, however, the more interesting news is that Sony may be shelving the whole ‘ST/MT/LT’ suffix for models. Going forward, it appears Sony might just use the model number and a standalone product name.
What would you like to see in the next big Sony release? Are there any hardware details that you define as simply ‘must-have’ in order to qualify as a flagship?
