HTC: 2012 devices get top priority for Android 4.1 update

htc_720

As if we expected anything else, HTC plans to give its 2012 Android devices priority for Jelly Bean updates. A glance through the handset maker’s Android 4.1 F.A.Q. tells us what is going on inside the Quietly Brilliant outfit as it pertains to Jelly Bean. Much of it will depend, of course, on carriers and markets and whether or not the phone is equipped to handle the update.  Naturally, the HTC One X and HTC One S are high on the list, however a time frame for 4.1X remains elusive.

We work hard to ensure each of our products has the optimal user experience and therefore some products will remain at their current version of Android. In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. At present, these devices include the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C. As we identify other devices that will not be upgraded, we’ll provide updated information.

Additional details can be found at the HTC 4.1 F.A.Q.
