Google: Nexus 4 is NOT sold out

So you’re trying to purchase one of those Nexus 4 handsets that just showed up back in stock, huh? Not so easy, is it? We’re hearing reports from all over the internet that you guys think it is out of stock and that your shopping cart is not processing.  Rest easy brah, that phone is most certainly not out of stock.  Google says so. Well, at 4:45PM EST, it’s not out of stock.

“Google Play is currently experiencing very high traffic. Nexus 4 is not sold out and will still be available for purchase. Please try again shortly. Thank you for your patience.”

If you’ve visited the Google Play Store in the few hours since the Nexus 4 showed back up, chances are good that you’ve run into the above message.

It is unclear as to how many of the Nexus 4 handsets are actually available however it doesn’t matter much if the store is busted. Here’s to hoping it gets fixed in short order and everyone is able to purchase the new device.

I just checked the Google Play Store a bit ago and both the 8GB and 16GB are in stock shipping anywhere between 1-2 weeks and 4-6 weeks on the LG Nexus 4. So good luck to everyone that wants it and hopefully the store will work.

But personally despite the fact that I want a new Smartphone and have been looking for since late September, I just don’t want an LG Nexus 4. I don’t care for the glass on the back, how slippery the phone is in hand, the earpiece problem some users are complaining about and most importantly, the fact that I would have to spend around $400 for the 16GB version with bumper case. I just don’t have $400 to spend like that.

But I was looking online and last years Samsung Galaxy Nexus or the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket more interest me especially when I can find them for around $250 in good condition. I like the plastic or rubber feel on the back. I like the texture feel on the back of the Nexus 7. Just a thought.

I think this error message should be put up there with the Windows BSOD error, under the worst error message of the century. Dammit Google, get your whip out and beat your engineers until they have the server up and running. FASTER!! whip….FASTER!!! whip..sort of like that. I heard it works. just ask the Egyptians. :)

More cock ups by Google…that message was showing on the UK play store, even though they ARE sold out with ‘no inventory’ here in the UK ever since ‘day zero’…..maybe they need a play.google.co.uk as well as a play.google.com to be able to differentiate what messages they’re sticking up for particular groups of people.

Just another google marketing stunt. Obvious the device is not as expected demand due to battery juice. Only no Brainer buy with emotional rush.
