ZTE intros 5-inch Nubia Z5

ZTE today announced its latest Android smartphone, the 5-inch Nubia Z5. Details are pretty much everything that has been leaked over the last few week, including a 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display.

Specs for the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean handset include a  1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 13-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage.  Powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, the Nubia Z5 is housed in an aluminum unibody shell and comes in at a mere 7.6mm thickness.

Expected to arrive in January, the Nubia Z5 will be headed for China with a ¥ 3,456.00 (approx. $554 US) price tag. It remains unclear whether this will come to the United States, however we do anticipate something similar to this at some point.  Sprint seems like a potential carrier for a ZTE handset such as this.

That is a sexy and hot looking phone. The display takes up most of the front face. Even though the screen size is bigger than my SGS2, I reckon the physical phone size is probably about the same on the front side dimensions. I would love to get a phone that looks as great as this but unfortunately, I’m 99% sure my next phone is going to be a Nexus (i.e. Nexus 4) just because I’m tired of waiting around for Android updates on non-Nexus phones. Just waiting for it to get back in stock.

If the next HTC flagship(M7??) comes with these spec’s I’ll buy it in a heartbeat! And so will millions of people around the world. The biggest complaint people have with HTC right now is less battery capacity and off late less built in storage. And with dimensions that the Zubia has HTC can’t claim that they compromised on battery for the form-factor and size/thckness.
