ZTE has become the latest hardware maker to toss the proverbial hat into the 8-inch tablet ring. The Chinese manufacturer today announced the V81, and 4.1 Jelly Bean experience that mimics the same same size and resolution of the iPad mini.

Details include a 1024 x 768 screen, dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and 2-megapixel rear camera. Around front you will find a 0.3-megapixel camera and under the hood rests support for HDMI, Wi-Fi, 21MB HSPA, Bluetooth, GPS, and microSD expansion. Rounding things out, a 3700mAh battery ensures you should get adequate usage time.

Pricing and availability are yet unknown however we expect more information as we approach Mobile World Congress. This is the sort of tablet that may make its way into the United States under Sprint but we don’t have any evidence to support that today.
