Motorola X Phone render image surfaces, more specs leaked

Rumors about the Motorola X Phone have been circulating for quite a while now, but we expect them to pick up steam.  We’ve heard plenty about the device and hope it can deliver on the ‘wow’ factor. Have you seen the recent rumors and the mouth-watering specs?

Possibly arriving as the Motorola NXT, our friends over at GSM Arena got their hands on a render image. What’s more, there are a number of specifications that were provided with the render. Keep in mind that this is all unconfirmed and that the image is likely to be a fanboy render.

Rumored specs include a Snapdragon 800 chipset, a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 resolution display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a 4000 mAh battery. The device could be IP57 certified ( water resistant up to a meter of water for as long as 30 minutes), and offer a Gorilla Glass 3 display. Yowzers. A 4000mAh battery?

Phone Arena was also tipped by an anonymous source, and the specs they are reporting are almost similar to the one mentioned above. They indicate that the processor will be clocked at 2GHz, and the display glass will be made up of sapphire glass, three times harder than Gorilla Glass.  Also it will have rubber corners/bumpers; that will absorb the shock when dropped  and a carbon fiber back. Now the most interesting part: It is rumored that Motorola will officially launch it in November.

If these details sound too good to be true, they probably are. There has been no indication yet that sapphire glass is anywhere near production for smartphones. Take all these rumors and a render image with a grain of salt.

What are your thoughts about the Motorola X Phone? Do you think it will be the next big thing? Tell us about it in the comment box below.

The next vzw phone that says nexus or has a truly unlockable bootloader is mine.

  • Carlos Sampaio

everyone keep asking that next big thing question but that fact of the matter is nothing will blow up as much as the s3 not even the s4 IMO. (i could be very wrong, this is my opinion) samsung made several very successful devices all the way back to the s1 line they were a hit the s2 werent so much but the also did the nexus and, well, people responded. a lot of people dont have cash to throw at the s4 and others wont be so willing to jump to the htc one, moto has ruined a lot of relationships with customers (including me. cliq many years ago, razr more recently) the only people that seem to be excited aout these phones are tech junkies and there arent enuf of them to make something the next big thing.

I saw this render on another site and they were making fun of this render because of how fake it looks. I agree. There is no way this is a real phone.

I’m always in awe of the products and services that Google puts so much into. Even when they deem them necessary to discontinue in order to pursue a like but better product. I waited for and got the Google/HTC Nexus One, very impressed and watched as everyone else copied. After it was out of circulation and I needed a new phone then went to the Samsung Galaxy SII, but am now waiting for the Google/Motorola X?? as my next phone. They say there is no such thing as new as everyone are pirates. But there is something to be said for a company that works hard for the public at large and then other companies pirate. Commodore, IBM, Apple, Samsung, HTC, Google. I feel as if Google is always providing a new way of making my life/work better. Yes, I’m a fan… Google For The People!

This phone (if real) looks as good as the htc one. If it were out now I would buy it. I have been torn between the HTC One and the sony Xperia z…so I have decided which ever one comes out first is the one I will get…problem solved.

I want to see the real specs. Hope that Google and Moto will make this phone with a 1080p resolution. I hope that this will be the phone that can go head to head with other phones like HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, LG Optimus G Pro and Sony Xperia Z on Android category and iOS’ iPhone 5 and the upcoming iPhone 5s or 6 and even with the high end Windows 8 powered devices like the Lumia 920 from Nokia, HTC’s 8x and Ativ S from Samsung. Not to forget, the Blackberry Z10. Fanboys of any brands out there might not admit but Motorola’s collaboration with Google is now the only most awaited event from last year for other OEMs since Android is known to be owned by Google and the S4 hype from Samsung is now over. I hope this will really be powered by Snapdragon 800 and will be clocked at 2-2.3 GHz if possible and if this doesn’t come with a memory card slot then this will work best if the 2 giants will make the onboard memory as big as 64GB as the minimum maybe and 128GB will be great since Apple has already made it possible with their iPad.

I don’t understand your statement that sapphire is nowhere near production for smartphones, the Vertu TI is a smartphone powered by android and has a sapphire front screen…
