One year later, Android accounts for nearly half of all Instagram users

One year after it made its debut on the platform, Android users make up nearly half of all Instragram users. A post on the Instagram blog tells us that Android now accounts for roughly fifty percent of all users but stopped short of providing any hard numbers.

We’ve seen Instagram pick up a number of new features over the last year and have enjoyed watching the app evolve. Despite a bit of backlash over the user agreement, momentum continues to build for the service. Most recently, Instagram introduced a full website that nearly mimics the mobile experience.
